Federal and College Work Study (FWS/CWS)

Work Study is an on-campus employment opportunity for students who demonstrate financial need and have minimal eligibility in other financial aid programs. Students are required to complete an application in order to be considered for the Work Study Program at SDCC.  The inclusion of a Work Study offer on a student’s Financial Aid Award does not guarantee job placement (students must inquire about job opportunities with the Career Services Office). Work Study earnings are taxable and paid bi-monthly as the student works the required hours to earn his/her award, and paid directly to the student’s account. After applying earnings to a student’s account, students may receive a refund check if a credit balance is generated. Work Study funds are limited, so it is in the student's best interest to apply and complete the FAFSA early.
