      Fall New Student Orientation (NSO) 2013 Schedule 

                                   August 23-26, 2013

8:30 AM - Welcome Session 
Let us welcome you to SDCC!  After a time of worship, you will hear from our President and Vice-Presidents and we will walk you through the NSO schedule! 
 
 
9 AM - Check In Begins 
We will get you through all your check in points as quickly as possible. Health Forms, Vehicle Registration, and Campus ID are just a few of the stops along the way. 
 
 
10:30 AM - Commuter Social 
Are you a commuter?  Join us for a time to get to know other commuter students, hear from our commuter student leadership team, and discover some of the events and services offered through our Commuter Life program. 
 
 
12 PM - Lunch with your Major 
Enjoy lunch with your department Faculty and other students that are entering your program  Don't worry if you are undeclared - many incoming students have not yet declared a major. 
 
1 PM - Athletics Informational 
Are you going to be a student athlete?  This session is designed especially for you and your family (support system) to have questions answered, learn about the expectations and demands of athletics, and help paint a picture for you to be a successful student athlete! 
 
 
2 PM - Parents and Partnerships 
Watching your child walk off into the "College world" can be both an exciting and scary thought.  Come hear from the Vice-President of Student Services and the Director of Student Life on how SDCC desires to build strong partnerships with you and learn about resources and programs offered. **Also information about the campus relocation to Santee will be provided. 
 
 
3 PM - Coffee with the President and Wife (Dr. Paul and Lorrie Ague) 
Dr. Ague invites you to join him for coffee in this informal session as he shares his heart for SDCC and the vision created. Hear about SDCC mission, goals, and get some updates on the move to Santee in the Spring! 
 
3:45 - SDCC Community Fair 
Get Involved!  College is what you make of it!  Come and see all the different activities, programs, and leadership opportunities across campus.  Student Government, Intramurals, Service Engagement, and Missions Trips are just a few of many programs available get plugged into and involved in from Day 1! 
 
 
5 PM - Dinner at the Santee Campus and Parent Goodbye 
We are just one more semester away from being on our new campus in Santee!  We will host our annual President's Luau out on the parking lot of our new campus.  Join us as we share a meal together, share the vision for the new site, and even take a tour of the buildings!  At the conclusion of the night we will have dessert and prayer for student and parents both as parents get ready to say goodbye to their son or daughter. **A shuttle will be provided to and from Santee for anyone that may need a ride. 
 
 
8:30 PM - Student Event! 
After the parents have gone, we will head out for a secret but incredibly fun event as you get to know other new students and begin to settle into our new community!

Your NSO check-list: 

  • Register online 
  • Proof of TB test (taken within one year of August 22, 2013)
  • A copy of the following (for parking pass):
    • Driver’s license
    • Proof of insurance
    • Vehicle registration
  • Be ready to take your yearbook photo
  • Your Medical Insurance ID Card
