AUDITIONS ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR THE 2013-2014 ACADEMIC YEAR

The Ministry Team is a group that features students from various degree programs who minister to churches and groups through service in a worship band. The Ministry Team is comprised of two branches: Travel Bands and Campus Bands. Travel Bands rehearse a total of four hours per week. Campus Bands rehearse once a week for two hours. Team members are required to attend a one-week training camp before fall semester, monthly team reunions, one-on-one meetings with the Ministry Team Manager, and occasional training sessions.

How to audition:

1. Schedule an audition time

Auditions are scheduled by appointment in concurrence with SDCC visit days. Upcoming visit days are listed below:

  • There are currently no upcoming visit days.

The Audition Process

A typical audition lasts approximately 25 minutes. You may present one contemporary worship song of your choosing. Due to time constraints, you may not be able to present the entire song. You may be asked to share about previous worship leading experiences, and your desire to join the SDCC team. We'll then play through two contemporary worship songs. During the course of the audition, you may be asked to learn a new song, change keys, teach us a song, and/or improvise. Vocalists may be asked to sing back melodies, find and sing a harmony part, and/or participate in a range assessment. Students who would like to audition on more than one instrument may need to schedule additional audition time.

Team Standards
