Department of Education Objectives

By the end of the Teacher Credential Program the student will:

1. Achieve academic competence as measured by passing the required subject matter examinations CSET as well as the CBEST and RICA (RICA for Multiple Subject only).
2. Achieve professional competence as a new teacher as measured by (1) a B- or higher in the professional courses; (2) passing the California state mandated Teaching Performance Assessments:  Subject-Specific Pedagogy Task, Designing Instruction Task, Assessing Learning Task, and the  Culminating Teaching Experience Task.; and (3) earning an A or a B grade in student teaching.
3. Exhibit exemplary Christian character traits as observed by the cooperating teachers and college supervisors.
