Home with the Lord
Robert Anthony Murphy Jr. "Bob" born in San Diego, February 23, 1955. Bob went home to be with the Lord on June 1, 2006.
Bob loved the Lord, his Catholic faith, his Family which included every person he ever met. And he loved his music. Bob was well known in the Diocese of San Diego for his loving service. Bob has been in the music Ministry since his first solo at Holy Trinity Church when he was 12. He led music at the 5:30 p.m. Mass at Holy Trinity for the last 15 years. He was also a music teacher and former youth group leader there. He worked at Pacbell and Lucent Technologies for many years. Most recently he was employed as Director of Faith Formation and led music at St. Pius X Church in Jamul.
Bob grew-up in El Cajon, CA. He was a graduate of El Cajon Valley High School, College of the Siskiyou and Christian Heritage College. He was involved in the Cursillo Community, Benedictus, Magnificate, Steubenville West Conference, RCIA and Pro-Life ministries just to mention a few. He was an enthusiastic fund raiser for Cystic Fibrosis research. He was godfather and sponsored many in their formation of faith. He formed the Bob Murphy Band in 1999 aka "BMB." He helped many experience the greatness of the Lord by performing many wonderful concerts. The majority of the songs that he and his band performed were self written contemporary praise and worship music. His CD "Child of God" was a local best seller.
His father Robert Anthony Murphy Sr. and brother John Joseph Murphy preceded Bob into their eternal rest. He is survived by his Loving mother Marie Therese Murphy, his son Skylar Murphy, sisters: Mimi (Richard) Davey, Colette Hazlet, Kathleen Murphy, Rose (Bryan) Remillard and Tricia (Tim) Long. Brothers: Ed (Melody) Murphy, Jim (Lisa) Murphy, Joe (Dawn) Murphy, Dennis Murphy and his Dearest friend Teresa Marcotte and her children Malorie, Coyrtne and Cameron. Twenty-one nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews and friends too numerous to count.

This is being posted by his very good friend, and former co-worker for 20+ years, Anna Bartlett. We both attended CHC & had Carole Bailey as our advisor. Bob led the most exemplary & dedicated life for Christ of anyone I have ever known. His faith, his music ministry & his love for everyone made him a giant among men. I have no doubt, as a believer, where his eternal soul rests, and believe with all my heart that we will meet again in the presence of our dearest Lord. Peace. ~Anna
