How to Apply for Admission

Applicants submit the following items before an acceptance decision is made:

1. Application for Admission: including essays, response to the Community Values and Standards, and application fee of $25 (non-refundable—waived for re-admission). For those completing the application online, the fee is also $25 and credit card payment is required to complete the process. The application fee is waived if the application is turned in during a campus visit.


2. Recommendations:

   Pastoral Recommendation: Must be completed by a pastor, youth pastor, or church leader who has known the applicant for more than one year and is familiar with the applicant’s spiritual walk.

   Academic Recommendation: Must be completed by a teacher or guidance counselor who is not a relative and who has known the applicant for more than one year.

   If Highschool GPA, College GPA, SAT and or ACT scores do not meet SDCC’s admission requirements an academic recommendation may be requested.



3. Official Transcripts from high school and all previous post-secondary education. Transcripts are official only when sent by an institution in a sealed envelope directly to the San Diego Christian College Office of Admissions.


4. Standardized test scores:
• ACT: 19 
• SAT: 1350 (new) or 900 (old) 

The tests should be taken in your junior or senior year of high school. Contact your high school guidance counselor for information concerning these tests. Our college code for ACT is 0211 and our college code for SAT is 4150. For more information regarding these two tests, you can visit their respective Web sites at: www.act.org & www.collegeboard.com.

NOTE: Transfer students who have completed 15 or more transferable credit hours will be examined on a case-by-case basis and may be exempt from these tests. See Policy for Transfer Students
