I am so grateful that God has given me SDCC both as a place to study and to work. During my time as a student here, I learned to really embrace challenges, whether academic or spiritual, and to allow the Lord to use those challenges to grow and stretch me in more ways than I could imagine. The students, staff, and faculty here have become some of the most important people in my life. The SDCC community is supportive and caring, and as a student here you can expect to have professors and staff who know you by name and care about your life on a personal level as well as an academic one.

Having grown up in San Diego, I can tell you that it is an awesome place to live with endless amounts of ministry opportunities and things to do. Students at SDCC love to go to the beach, study at the local coffee shops, hike and rock climb, and participate in the San Diego community. If you want to go to college in a lively, sunny city on a Christ-centered campus, SDCC is for you. If you would like to learn more about SDCC, give us a call and we’ll be happy to tell you more about the campus. We look forward to hearing from you!

What do you like to do in your free time? San Diego has awesome weather and a ton of things to do, so I really like to find new places to see around the city and to be outside as much as possible. I especially love the beach, outdoor art shows, Chargers football, and walking around Balboa Park or downtown San Diego.

What is your favorite SDCC memory? I have so many great memories from my time at SDCC, I really can’t pick just one. Overall, my favorite thing about the college was getting to know friends and professors who not only challenged me academically but also encouraged me spiritually and helped me to see different perspectives.

Where is your favorite place you have traveled? I love to travel and want to see so many places, but so far my favorite place has been Cairo, Egypt. I went to Egypt and Austria with a group of students from SDCC and had a great time seeing the Pyramids and the Red Sea, experiencing Arabic culture, and getting to know my fellow classmates better.

What is your favorite verse? "Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18

What is your favorite place to eat in San Diego? There is a great sushi place about ten minutes away from SDCC that I love called Banbu. San Diego is also home to some of the best Mexican food in the world, so I like going to the little 'hole in the wall' places for burritos.

As a San Diego native, I cannot imagine calling anywhere else home! When I began my college search, I knew I wanted to stay in sunny San Diego and knew that attending a Christ-centered school focused on Biblical teaching was of the utmost importance. SDCC met all of my expectations and then some! As a student, I greatly benefited from the close-knit community and small class sizes SDCC has to offer. My professors took genuine interest in their students and served as excellent mentors and instructors. When God presented an opportunity to serve full-time at SDCC as part of our Admissions team, I was thrilled to be able to give back to the school that gave so much to me. I've met some of my closest friends at SDCC and I'm so grateful for the education I received and the growth I've experienced as a student and as a staff member.

What do you like to do in your free time? As a full-time staff member at SDCC, a graduate student at APU, a wife to a wonderful husband, and a mommy to an active toddler, free time is hard to come by! When I do find myself with free time, I love spending it with my family in the great outdoors and perusing the aisles of used book stores.

What is your favorite place you have traveled to? I was fortunate enough to go on a mission trip to Russia a few years back. I was awed by the endless fields of sunflowers found throughout the Russian and Ukrainian country sides and I love to visit local Russian delis to reminisce about that amazing time and enjoy the Russian foods I miss so much!

What is your favorite verse in the Bible? "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know the testing of your faith produces perseverance."-James 1:2-3.

What is your favorite place to eat in San Diego? Carnitas Snack Shack in North Park and Bamboo Thai in La Mesa!

I attended a community college in Orange County and had the opportunity to help with a church plant in Chula Vista so I started to look at colleges in San Diego to transfer to. A couple of pastors from my home church had graduated from SDCC and had nothing but great things to say, so I applied. I honestly had no idea what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. I loved how personable and available all the professors were. I could tell that for them, teaching was not only a job but a ministry and they used every opportunity to pour into their students. It has been such a blessing to come on board as an Admissions Counselor to be able to pour into the students I interact with just as others had done for me. I loved my time at SDCC as a student and feel that it has prepared me well for a career or to begin graduate school in the future.

What is your favorite place you have traveled? I’ve been blessed to have the opportunity to do a few missions trips to the Congo in Africa. I always miss it and am excited to return.

What is your favorite verse? Philippians 2:4-11 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name , so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on Earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

What is your favorite place to eat in San Diego? Bamboo Thai in La Mesa and Rigobertos in La Jolla (Best carne asada fries ever!)

What do you like to do in your free time? My husband and I love kayaking, hiking, rock climbing, taking our dog to the beach and checking out new places to eat in San Diego.

Having gone to public school my whole life, becoming a student at SDCC provided a completely new and fascinating academic and social environment for me. I made long lasting friendships within the first hour of having stepped foot on campus, saw professors put in extra care to see their students succeed, and witnessed our Creator transform many of my brothers and sisters in Christ in massive ways.

It was such blessing to have made countless memories as a student at SDCC, and now I have the privilege of creating new ones as an admissions counselor here. I am more than happy to assist students and their families as they prepare for their journey at San Diego Christian College. I hope to see you here soon to witness first-hand what our college is all about.

What is your favorite Place to Eat in San Diego? Hodad’s on Newport Avenue.

What was your favorite Lesson Learned in College? There is always room for improvement.

Favorite Bible Verse? Luke 12:32. Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has chosen gladly to give you the Kingdom.

What do you like to do in your free time? I’m really into music and songwriting; I play guitar and dabble in ukulele and piano. I’m that guy who listens to bands no one has ever heard of. Having a passion for film, I’m also an avid movie goer.
