Meet the Author
Come help the College Library celebrate its local authors as they introduce their books and read a selection. The featured authors include Dr. Jon DePriest (Send the light : Team and the evangelical mission, 1890-1975), Dr. Joe Sarnowski (The literary achievement of the American poet Robert Penn Warren : his life-long struggles with morality, myth, and modernity), and James Swezey (The curse of a warrior). Light refreshments follow.

Tecate Missions Opportunity

The SDCC Community is preparing to send a ministry team to serve at the Tecate Bible Institute on Saturday, April 17th and you are invited to join us. We will be working on various building projects at their facilities. Here are the details:
• Register by Monday, April 12th.
• Complete the SDCC Missions form, pay $10 and bring money for Tacos on the road.
• Have a valid passport.
• Attend the “Tecate Meeting” Wednesday April 14th at 5:00pm in Room F-7A
• Meet Saturday, April 17th – 6:00am at the Flagpole
• Return to campus between 7:00 - 8:00pm


Register Early -transportation is limited, insurance forms must be completed and we need to prepare for our meals. You can find all the necessary information at the Student Development office.

Fall 2010 Registration Checklist

Financial Clearance for Spring 2010
All remaining Spring 2010 student account balances must be paid off prior to distribution of registration materials. Login to Empower Web to view your Billing Detail Summary to make sure that you do not have an account balance for Spring 2010.

Registration materials may be picked up from the Enrollment Services Office during your assigned Registration week:

Make Appointment with Academic Advisor
An appointment sign-up sheet should be posted on the door of your academic advisor’s office. Appointments must take place during your assigned registration week.

Review Master Schedule
You received a copy of your major-specific master schedule during your first semester at SDCC or when your major was most recently declared. You should update your master schedule when you receive your grade report for each semester or add or drop classes. Contact your academic advisor or the Enrollment Services Office, if you would like to obtain another copy of your master schedule.

Select courses according to the master schedule for your major and class year. The course schedule may be viewed online through Empower Web. Prerequisites for classes you are interested in taking are listed in the SDCC General Catalog available on the SDCC website. Note: GE math and English requirements must be completed by the end of your sophomore year.

Meet with Academic Advisor
Make sure to bring your registration materials and master schedule to your appointment. Discuss your plans with your academic advisor. Decide on registration and complete registration forms. Obtain advisor’s signature on forms. Submit completed forms to the Enrollment Services Office by your Registration Deadline.

Financial Check-In for Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 – Now Online!
You may begin Financial Check-In once you have submitted your Registration Materials to the Enrollment Services Office. Your status with Financial Aid will be verified and you will receive instructions for online Financial Check-In at that time.


Financial Aid Information

Please be sure you have completed your FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov  and that you are regularly checking your student email for communications from the Enrollment Services Office. Please note that your financial aid MUST be complete before you will be allowed to complete your Financial Check-In for 2010-2011.

The deadline for 2010-2011 Financial Check-In is APRIL 16th. If you have any questions regarding your financial aid, please contact the Enrollment Services Office as soon as possible.


Student Loan Information for Graduating Seniors

Attention Graduating Seniors with Student Loans:
If you are graduating this Spring and have taken out student loans during your college history you MUST complete Loan Exit Counseling, as mandated by the Department of Education and outlined in your loan terms. 

Students can complete this requirement by going here and taking the exit counseling sessionYou MUST complete this requirement before you graduate. 

Also, starting this week personalized e-mails  with detailed information on Loan History, Repayment, and Consolidation will be sent to these students .  DO NOT DISREGARD THIS E-MAIL.  It will come from the Enrollment Services Office and the subject line will be “Mandatory Loan/Financial Aid Information”.  If you have any questions regarding the content of this e-mail or need help understanding the repayment or consolidation process please contact the Enrollment Services Office and we will be glad to assist you.  Our contact information is listed below:

Prayer Tribe

Gather with students to pray for each other and our brothers and sisters around the world. Prayer Tribe meets Mondays at 11am and Thursdays at 12:30pm in the Solid Rock. Contact Kirstyn Taylor for more information.
