Position Summary:
As part of this overarching mission, we are looking for a driven Faculty Chair of the Education Department who can administer development and growth of the department. Under the direct supervision of the Vice President for Academics, the person in this function will lead and direct all components of the Education Department.
The new Chair will be expected to provide the vision and direction to bring the Department to the next level of excellence. Strong leadership and administrative skills are essential characteristics. Beyond maintaining a strong academic program, responsibilities of the Chair include administration of the Department and its teaching programs, as well as defining its vision and overall directions, including developing a graduate program for Education.
Candidate’s Qualifications:
She/he will be a committed Christian, having placed their faith firmly in Jesus Christ. She/he will be in full agreement with SDCC’s
Doctrinal Statement and be a firm believer of integrating a Christian worldview into every single aspect of the curriculum. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. or Ed.D., substantial experience in K-12 teaching, and have proven experience of academic rigor and building/increasing the size of an academic department.
