Costa Mesa, Calif. -- The San Diego Christian College women’s basketball team built a big first half lead but could not withstand a 48 point second half from #12 Vanguard University as the Lady Lions defeated the Lady Hawks 71-64.

The Lady Hawks would continue to build the lead, reaching a 29-10 advantage with 7:57 left before halftime. VU would cut into the lead, using a 13-4 run to close the half and take the SDC lead down to 33-23 heading into the locker room.

Vanguard continued their run into the start of the second half, cutting the Lady Hawks lead to 33-30 just two minutes into the half. SDC would maintain a small advantage until a VU three pointer put the Lady Lions up 42-40 with 13:45 remaining in the game.
