Fresno, CA-- The San Diego Christian College women’s cross country team concluded their season on Saturday at the GSAC championship in Fresno. The team completed the season with a 7th place finish overall, ending a successful campaign for second year head coach Rufus Schneider.

“We were pleased with the way we ran today,” said Schneider. “We ran the fastest race we have ever run on that course.”

“The girls stepped up and performed well.”

Joella Silvera led SDCC with a 28th place finish overall, ending with a time of 19:20. Right behind Silvea was Jacklyn Lowry (pictured left) at 19:34 and 31st overall.

Next for the Hawks was Katarina Medici, 39th overall and posting a 20:26. Adrienne Graham crossed the line next in a time of 20:50 and 39th overall. Rounding out the Hawk runners were Jackie Flores (58th, 23:04), Allison Rowe (59th, 23:56) and Katelyn Neverkovek (61st, 25:24).

For the SDCC men, Jeremiah Ninteman finished the 8k with a time of 32:34.

“The GSAC is such a great conference for cross country,” added Schneider. “While we felt we could have run better, we realize that the competition in this conference is superior to what we see most of the year.”

“Overall, it was successful. We are able to drive home with no regrets.”
