El Cajon, Calif. -- Former San Diego Christian College forward Viktor Asaciovas has signed to play professionally in Austria for the Schwaz Silverminers of the Austrian II Division of Bundesliga.
Asaciovas, a native of Alytus, Lithuania, came to SDCC from Cuyamaca College in El Cajon. Asaciovas is also a graduate of Christian High in El Cajon. During his three seasons at SDCC, Asaciovas contributed through a power post game and defensive tenacity. Asaciovas credits his time at SDCC and playing in such a prestigious conference in preparing him to play at the professional level.
“Playing in GSAC made me really tough both physically and mentally,” said Asaciovas. “The GSAC is really competitive college league, so it was great for me and my future basketball career.”
“My goals would be to become better on every day basis and keep God in every step of my life. Also one of my goals is to win the league this year, and also prove to myself that I can play in higher level than before.”
Viktor was a fixture on the SDCC campus, both on and off the court, including presenting announcements in chapel and attending many SDCC activities.
“The San Diego Christian College staff gives us the opportunity to get a lot of tools that we can use in our lives after the college. It is our responsibility to receive them.“
“One thing I would like to share with SDCC family: I would say that we always should keep Christ in our lives. It does not matter what kind of stage you are facing in your life. There are going to be shiny and dark days in our lives, but as long God is with us we shouldn’t be afraid of anything.”
