Irvine, CA-- Trying to figure out the Concordia volleyball team has been
a challenge this season for nearly every team. Unfortunately, the San Diego Christian College
volleyball team became another victim for the #2 ranked Eagles in straight
games 25-19, 25-14, 25-21.
Concordia improves to 26-1 (13-0 GSAC) while SDCC falls to
6-23 (0-13 GSAC).
After dropping the first two games, the Hawks showed great
life in game 3. The entire game was back and forth, with SDCC holding the lead
at 13-12. CU quickly went on a 9-3 run to stretch their lead to 21-16. Again,
the Hawks fought back, going on small 5-2 run to get within striking distance.
But late, the Eagles were too much, putting the game away on consecutive kills.
Overall in game 3, there were 11 ties and 7 lead changes.
For the Hawks, Rachel Allen had 9 digs and 6 kills. Cassidy
Mertens chipped in with 12 assists.
The Hawks travel to Azusa Pacific University of a match on
Saturday, October 29th.
