] Irvine, Calif. --
Close, but not quote close enough was the case for the San Diego Christian College Lady Hawks soccer team on Tuesday afternoon. SDCC took the #4 rated Concordia Eagles to the limit, eventually falling in the second overtime 2-1.
Senior goalkeeper Katelyn Ogle kept CU at bay most of the day, as she collected seven saves against an Eagle attack that saw CU fire off 20 shots total.
Both teams played to a 0-0 tie at halftime. The score remained the same until a CU goal in the 63rd minutes.
In the 84th minute, SDCC was able to tie the game when freshman Ashley Jarosin delivered a pass to All-GSAC forward Hannah Waggoner who was able to get the ball past the keeper for the goal.
The first overtime played out as Waggoner was able to get a shot off that sailed high just seconds before the first overtime period ended.
CU ended the game less than two minutes into the second overtime when a header from Loren Kortizija found the net off of a corner kick.
SDCC continues their season on Saturday on the road at Westmont College.
