San Diego, Calif. --The San Diego Christian College women’s soccer team was unable to overcome the cold weather and the unbeaten Sea Lions of Point Loma Nazarene University on Wednesday afternoon, falling 4-0.
The Sea Lions collected their eighth straight shutout with a strong defensive effort that limited the SDCC (4-5, 0-2) to only one shot in the second half after Senior Hannah Waggoner had two shots on goal in the first frame.
PLNU scored in the 20th minute on a goal from Katie Pedlowe. SDCC was able to keep the game at 1-0 going into halftime.
The second half was not kind to the Lady Hawks, as they saw the Sea Lions add on three more goals to take the game 4-0.
Katelyn Ogle and Emily Wilson split time in goal for SDCC, combining for five saves. For the game, the Lady Hawks were outshot 22-5, as PLNU was able to fire off 15 shots in the second frame.
SDCC plays at home on Saturday against Biola. Kickoff is set for 1:00pm.
