Although it was a small dent at the time, SDC got some help from lefty reliever Kevin Keefe in the fifth, who retired the side with two strike outs.
Christopher Pascual (3-5, 4 RBI, 2 runs) knocked his first jack of the year to left for three runs, but the Cougars put three more up on an untimely error in the seventh that plagued them until the close, despite out hitting APU 16-12.

The next two innings produced nine runs for Azusa with the help of three Hawk errors, making it 10-1 going into the bottom of the seventh. San Diego Christian would get a run in the eigth and ninth, giving APU the 12-3 win.
Morgan Wynne went seven in the win, giving up 2 runs, 6 hits and striking out 8. Jones faced 29 batters in his six and a third innings, striking out four.
