Lakeside, Calif. -- It was a hard day at Stars Field for the Hawks (5-19, 3-14 GSAC) as the No. 3 California Baptist University (28-9, 15-7 GSAC) Lancers outscored SDC 15-2, recording 20 hits to SDC's three.

CBU chimed in with a run in the third off a one out double from Matt Maranati and then again with 10 runs in the fifth with the help of grand slam to right from Josh Manzano. The Lancers mustered ten hits in that inning, bringing every player on the starting roster across the plate by the end of the fifth.

Two runs trickled in in the seventh inning for SDC, keeping the Lancers from the shutout, but CBU added three more an inning later on a two-run bomb to deep center to seal the 15-2 win.

Marco Solis (2-1) took the loss for SDC giving up 8 runs and 11 of CBU's 20 hits. He faced 25 batters in his four and a third innings. Jesse Arreola (4-2) pocketed the win for CBU, striking out 8 in his seven innings. He was responsible for all five of the Hawks hits and gave up two runs, one earned.

Cal Baptist hosts San Diego Christian on Saturday for a double-header starting at 12:00pm.
