Santa Clarita, Calif. -- The Hawks fell to 7-14 (1-10 GSAC) on Thursday night in the seaons second loss to The Master's College (9-13, 2-10 GSAC), 52-44.
Even match ups in the first half kept the score and play close, with SDC leading early and three ties to the 22-20 halftime score. Both teams were able to knock down 3 out of 10 three-pointers and 7 shots total from the field. Two extra free-throws for the Mustangs established their two point margin going into the second half.
San Diego Christian had their chances in the second, but couldn't locate their named three point fever to put them back in contention for late the lead (1-8, 12.5%). Throughout the half, The Master's held a 4 to 10 point lead over SDC, keeping the Hawks from quality looks at the basket, sealing the 52-44 win.
By games end, senior Paul Wolf had the high's for SDC going 2 for 4 and 8 of 9 at the line for 12 points, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks and 2 assists. TMC shot below 50%, hitting 8-19, with three players still finishing in double digits.
Hope International University will meet at the Ryan Athletic Center for their final match up with SDC on Saturday, January 29. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30pm.
