Asaciovas, Double-Double in 76-48 Win

El Cajon, Calif. -- The San Diego Christian (2-2, 0-0 GSAC) College Hawks rounded out a successful home Classic on Saturday afternoon with a game against Southwestern College (AZ) (0-2), winning 76-48. Senior Viktor Asaciovas (pictured left) highlighted the game for SDC with a double-double, going 3-6 from the field for 11 points and pulling down 10 rebounds.

Senior Jason Starr had 14 points and three rebounds and junior Keenan Patterson was 3-5 from downtown for 12 points, tacking on 3 assists and 1 steal. Junior Xavier Mylleville shot 4-6 from the field, 2-2 from the line and 7 rebounds. Junior Aaron Felix had the team high 6 assists, also scoring 6 points, going 2-2 from the line.

The first half was slow all around, litered with fouls, 19 total and turnovers, 18 totaled between both teams. With 6:43 to go, Patterson sunk a three, putting the Hawks up, 19-18. Patterson had 11 points for the Hawks in the first, helping them carry a 29-21 lead into the half.

SDC came out of the locker room rejuvinated, blanking the Eagles 9-0 to take a 17 point lead.
Asaciovas dominated the boards for the Hawks tallying 8 of his ten rebounds and all 11 points in the second half.

SDC boosted their shooting percentage in the second half by over ten percent, 34.6% to 48.3%. They also hit 13-19 from the line in the second, improving from the 5-11 from the first half.

Southwestern's A.J. Koch was 5-9 from behind the arch and 5-6 from the line for 20 points, almost half of the Eagles scoring for the night. By games end, SWC had shot 32.0% from the field.

San Diego Christian travels to Montana next weekend for two games in the Carroll College Tournament. Their first game lands on Friday, November 19, starting at 6:00pm Pacific Standard Time against host team Carroll College.
