SDCC is proud to announce that Kyle Ferguson has been appointed Athletic Director at San Diego Christian College. Kyle has served in various roles at the college from Admissions Counselor, to Sports Information Director, to Adjunct Communication Faculty. He currently holds a Masters degree in Communication from Spring Arbor University and is a former college baseball player. Ferguson, an avid college sports fan, is excited for the challenge in his new role.

When asked about his goals for the athletic department this year he responded, “Our biggest goal is always to help students grow in their walk with Christ. SDCC provides the arena in which we are not only allowed, but expected to provide mature Christian leadership. In addition, we look to continue to raise the level of play on the field and carry on the success we have experienced recently. Ultimately, the more success we have, the more opportunities we have to share the gospel and bring glory to God.”

Ferguson also commented, “I am very excited and humbled to be in this position. We have the amazing opportunity to be used by the Lord to impact young men and women who He brings to SDCC. We have a fantastic group of coaches who are committed to discipling their student-athletes. I look forward to working with our coaches and empowering them to use their gifts to develop students for Kingdom work.”

With Ferguson’s appointment, former Athletic Director and Head Baseball Coach, Chris Bando, is ready to be able to focus on preparing SDCC’s future athletic facilities and to disciple his players. Ferguson commented on Bando’s influence in the department, “We are blessed to have coach Bando continue to provide spiritual leadership to me, our coaches, and our student athletes. I cannot stress enough what an asset he is to our department.”

The college’s athletic department showed much improvement last season with the baseball program making the national tournament and multiple programs making their conference tournaments. SDCC and Ferguson expect this trend to continue and are looking forward to competing in the coming year.
