At SDC, Truth and Purpose aren’t just words out of the mission statement –they are core values and beliefs. These beliefs are what propels students, faculty and alumni to have an impact on the community, the city and the world. SDC hosted our annual Truth and Purpose Conference from Monday, February 6 to Wednesday, February 8 on what it means to live with truth and purpose.
Classes were dismissed on Tuesday and students enjoyed a free lunch provided by staff and faculty before heading to the Chapel to worship and hear inspirational messages. Keynote speaker John Lynch shared the message in Romans 6:14 on grace, freedom and destiny. As it is said, “Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.” (NLT) Lynch shared how believers don’t have to prove themselves to God.
The worship team from Calvary Chapel Murrieta led the students in song and praise. Breakout sessions were held in classrooms where students learned and discussed topics from the Beatitudes from staff and faculty. This was an incredible week for the students, staff and faculty as we all witnessed many spiritual transformations.
